Why doesn’t the HOF consider great players who didn’t play on great teams? Take a guy like Floyd Little of the Broncos. He played on one of the worst AFL/AFC teams for years. He was the team’s lone star yet, even after entering the league as a 25-year-old rookie, he retired 7th all-time in NFL history. He led the AFC and NFL in rushing, and from 1968-73, he accrued more yards rushing and more yards from scrimmage than any player. He was “The Franchise” of the Denver Broncos who laid the foundation and kept the team in Denver when they were about to move to Birmingham or Chicago. He’s the reason the Broncos are one of the marquee teams they are today.

I’ve always enjoyed your football commentary. Though contrary to much of the public sentiment, I’ve always believed you to be sincere and true to your beliefs, regardless of how much I may disagree with them. I am not however, nor have I ever been, a boxing fan, but this is an exceptional column, truly evocative. Thank you.

Matt Walsh is a “rat” through and through.
He worked for the Pats and accepted their money and now is a whistle blower.
I have zero respect for him.Zero.

Dead “D” - Point being, if that’s how Martz handled security matters at the Super Bowl he, in my opinion, isn’t smart enough to come up with as elaborate a taping scheme as Bill Belichick and Ernie Adams used. It really didn’t strike me that this conclusion was so difficult to follow. If you, as head coach, allow opposing team personnel IN PATRIOT GEAR to walk around the sidelines (which martz denies ever happened by the way) then I doubt you’d be smart enough to figure out how to get tape in the camera let alone create an elaborate scheme of how to knowingly and willingly circumvent a clear NFL rule for at least eight years. Capeche?

Except that was not your original point. You claimed that Martz’s stupidity was somehow proof that the rest of the league did not engage in stealing signals.

I will take it that you no longer stand by your original claim that the failure to get rid of a Patriots employee from the walkthrough “confirms” that taping was not widespread.

You are changing your claim. Have the guts to acknowledge it.

Yeah Ron I freely admit that you know more about boxing than I do but you would be a fool to suggest that ALL professional boxing is on the up and up. But because it hurts your argument you ignore that professional boxing, a sport you love, is a mess because it insists on allowing characters like Don King rule the sport not to mention the wise guys in Vegas.
That was my point which you so conveniently overlook when I and others comment on your opinions.

You also seem to overlook the fact that many NFL teams have players who use performance enchancing drugs, not just the Patriots Ron. And since they do its called cheating for all of them.
